Dynamics NAV in the Cloud or ‘On premise’

Is your Dynamics NAV hosted on-premise or in the cloud? Microsoft and its partners talk about ‘Digital Transformation’ to convince you that the cloud is inescapable. But is that really what you organization needs? Are there better options? To find an answer to these questions Rick Blom of EasyStep2 has been invited to do a webinar on this topic. He will show you the pros and cons and discuss:

  • Costs, benefits and ROI
  • Performance and scalability
  • Manageability and backups

Within our webinar you’ll find guidelines to help you take the right and – above all – substantiated decision.

Continuous Integration with Dynamics NAV 2016 and beyond

Continuous integration (CI) was introduced in 1994 and since that time has evolved from concept to almost precondition for professional development.
For many development environments, the tooling has now evolved so far that a CI project is set up in no time. The CI concepts are also applicable for Dynamics NAV, but require more effort.
In this session we make clear what CI is, why CI is important, what is needed and how you could implement this in your working environment with the following tools:

  • C / SIDE
  • Git
  • Visual Studio Code
  • VSTS
  • Docker
  • PowerShell

Our goal is that after this session you can decide which parts of CI to implement and how to do that, of course we will support our story with the necessary practical situations and demos!

To get the most out of this session get yourself to 101 level on Git by watching one of our webinars by Kamil Sacek: Git 101 – The Basics.

C/SIDE Development 101 Series

Before the summer recession another twosessions have been planned:

C/SIDE Development 101 #6 – Reports – retrieve, display and manipulate data

Reports have always been available in NAV as a data retrieval tool. They have been used to process and/or manipulate the data with the option of presenting the data in a formatted, printable format.

In this session, we will discuss the basic building blocks that that let us create datasets and how to present them in a displayable format. Or even only to retrieve and manipulate data.

Sorry, but this was needed to be rescheduled.

And if you really want your skills to be challenged, get yourself a copy of the book and, parallel to the webinars, work out the WDTU scenario exercises from the book. If needed there are versions of this book still available going back to NAV 5.0.
